Walmart · Mastercard
The same 3% and 1% as the standard Walmart card since September 2025. The World tier now adds benefits rather than a better rate.

What we like, and what we don’t
Worth having
- No annual fee
- 3% back at Walmart in store, on walmart.ca and on Walmart Marketplace
- Up to six months of Walmart delivery membership included
- Mastercard World network benefits above the standard tier
- $25 in Reward Dollars after $75 of spending in the first 30 days
Watch out for
- Since September 2025 it earns exactly the same as the standard Walmart card, so upgrading buys no extra earning
- Reward Dollars can only be spent at Walmart, in $5 increments
- The exclusion list still blocks tobacco, lottery, alcohol, prescriptions and gift cards
- Fairstone does not publish a purchase assurance limit or a minimum income for this tier
- No travel insurance

The earning fine print
Same earn table as the standard card under Version U (Sep 2025) of the Reward Dollars programme terms: 3% at Walmart in Canada (in-store, walmart.ca and Marketplace) on the pre-tax amount, 1% everywhere else on the post-tax amount; Accès Pharma chez Walmart 1%; Klarna purchases 1%. No published annual cap. The World tier's differentiator is insurance and Mastercard World network benefits, not a higher earn rate. Before the Sep 2025 re-launch the World tier paid 3% online at walmart.ca versus 1.25% for the standard card, and that gap no longer exists.

What the benefits really mean
The premium tier's only published embedded benefits are Purchase Assurance (theft, loss or damage within 90 days of purchase) and a doubled manufacturer's warranty for up to one additional year. Fairstone publishes no dollar limits for either. No travel insurance of any kind. There is one application for the Walmart Rewards Mastercard family and Fairstone assigns the tier; the Aug 2025 disclosure statement covers both the standard and World cards and does not publish a minimum income for the World tier (third-party sites cite $100,000 household. Unverified and recorded as NOT PUBLISHED). Same Preferred/Standard rate split and same fee schedule as the standard card. Post-Sept-2025 the World tier no longer earns more than the standard card. The old 3%-online advantage was extended to both cards. Anyone upgrading for extra earn gets nothing. Rewards remain spendable only at Walmart, with the same exclusion list (tobacco, lottery, alcohol, prescriptions, account payments, cash equivalents). Fairstone publishes no dollar limit for Purchase Assurance and no minimum income for the World tier. Treat any figure you see elsewhere as unsourced. You do not choose the tier; Fairstone assigns it, and you may land on the 26.99% Standard Rate card instead of 21.99%. Entire Reward Dollar balance is forfeited on account closure.
Our verdict
The reason this tier existed was a higher online rate, and in September 2025 Walmart extended that rate to the standard card. Since then the two cards earn identically, which means anybody upgrading for extra rewards gets nothing at all for the trouble.
What remains is the delivery membership and the Mastercard World network benefits, which are worth something if you use Walmart delivery and nothing if you do not. Fairstone does not publish the insurance limits or the income requirement for this tier, so we cannot tell you what else you are getting. Take the standard card unless the delivery membership is the point.
