Canadian credit cards with no foreign transaction fee

Almost every Canadian card adds 2.5% to anything bought in another currency, including things bought online from a Canadian looking website that bills in US dollars. The cards on this page do not. It is the shortest list on the site and the easiest saving to calculate.

We track 5 credit cards with no foreign transaction fee in Canada, 0 of them with no annual fee. Every figure here comes from the issuer’s own published pages and terms, last checked 18 August 2026. Where an issuer does not publish something we leave it blank rather than guess, which is explained on how we research.

How we picked

  • A foreign transaction fee the issuer publishes as 0%. Cards whose issuer does not publish the fee at all are excluded rather than assumed to be free, which is the rule the whole site runs on.
  • The exchange rate itself is not included, because no issuer publishes their margin over the network rate and we will not estimate one.
  • What the card is like as an everyday card, since a card used only abroad has to justify its fee on a few weeks of the year.

    Best all-rounder

Five points a dollar on groceries, dining and entertainment with no foreign transaction fee, for $120. Nothing else here does all three. The catch is that it is an Amex, so it will be refused where a Visa would not.
