Business card
$20 per card with no rewards and a 20.99% rate. The fee is charged on every card, so a fifteen card programme costs $300 a year.

What we like, and what we don’t
Worth having
- Individual spend controls and per card credit limits
- Consolidated reporting across up to fifteen cards
- Liability sits with the business rather than the owner
- Cheap per card if you only need one or two
Watch out for
- The $20 fee is per card, not per account, so there is no free primary card
- It earns no rewards at all
- A 20.99% purchase rate with nothing to show for it
- No insurance of any kind published
- The perks offered are a Skip+ membership and a Disney+ discount, which are not business benefits

The earning fine print
No rewards programme. This is a pure expense-management corporate card that CIBC nonetheless sells through its small business credit cards page, which is why it is included here rather than excluded as a commercial-only product.
What the offer actually requires
No welcome bonus. A free Skip+ membership and 50% off Disney+ for 6 months are offered as perks.

What the benefits really mean
$20 per card for up to 15 cards. The cheapest way in this segment to put a team on cards. Visa Spend Clarity lets the business set custom spending limits, create virtual cards and track transactions in near real time. Visa SavingsEdge discounts. Car rental savings up to 30% off Avis and 35% off Budget. Fraud alerts and a digital disputes platform. LIABILITY: CIBC files this card in its 'Business liability cards' group. CIBC publishes no insurance coverages for this card at all. THE ANNUAL FEE IS PER CARD, NOT PER ACCOUNT. '$20 each for up to 15 cards' means a 15-card programme costs $300 a year. There is no free primary card. No rewards and no insurance at all, but a full 20.99% purchase rate. The fee buys only spend controls and reporting. requires_personal_guarantee recorded FALSE on CIBC's 'Business liability' classification only. CIBC's Business Credit Card Summary of Annual Interest Rates and Fees PDF does not cover this card; the 2.5% FX figure is inferred from CIBC applying 2.5% uniformly across every business card it does list, and should be confirmed.
Our verdict
You are buying spend controls and reporting, and paying a full rate of interest for the privilege. That is a reasonable trade for a company that needs fifteen cards with individual limits and wants one statement. It is a poor one for anybody else.
The economics scale the wrong way. At $20 per card a fifteen card programme is $300 a year and earns nothing, while CIBC's own free Costco Business Mastercard gives nine employee cards at no cost and pays cash back. Unless the spend controls are the specific thing you need, they are the only thing you are getting.
